The KrowdFit Wellness Score is based on research and clinical data developed by the Center for Disease Control, the National Institute of Health and the American Heart Association. It has been developed by KrowdFit as a way to measure and inform your quantitative life, helping you to make sense out of a large amount of health and wellbeing data. We simplify the data from multiple sources and activity types into just one number to compare against published guidance and the broader Krowd. It goes back to our core purpose of helping members maintain a healthy active lifestyle.
Engagement: The new measure of participation
One factor in our Wellness Score is your engagement within KrowdFit. This is measured by the number of data days received from fitness trackers coupled with the number of days a you sign in to the app. As you collect both data days and connect days your engagement score will rise. We consider an engagement score of 21 or more in a month to be fully engaged.
Once you get seven data days we begin calculating your wellness score, then as your engagement goes up we start your level progression.
If you don't maintain a minimum engagement score of seven you will start to lose Wellness Score and points applied to level progression.
Wellness Score: A new way to see your data
As you provide activity data from your fitness trackers we “grade” the level of that activity against the 30-day trailing average, age and gender. The different counters are weighted from light to heavy by meals/sleep/steps/activity. As we continue to get data, we consider the quality of that data, the consistency with which it is provided, and build your average. That average is then scored against the research supported targets for age and applied to the score. As you maintains a good “grade” by staying engaged with the system the Wellness Score evolves and is applied to your level progression.
As a point of reference, someone who is consistently meeting the recommended activity levels should have a Wellness Score of 2.5 - 3.0.
Levels: Unlock new level perks
Level progression is constant within KrowdFit and cannot be lost. As you engage and are scored for wellness you will earn “XP” toward level advancement. When your level increases you earn badges and/or perks in the form of “Amp’d” entries. Amp’d entries are earned and rewarded daily but must be claimed during the daily check-in. If you don’t check-in and claim the reward it will expire for that day.
Levels aren’t capped, if you are consistently active and engaged you will continue to accumulate XP and levels within KrowdFit. Amp’d entries will be provided for various KrowdFit giveaways based on level progression.
