The Fitbit app and tracker experience is the most complete we offer. Using a Fitbit tracker with the free Fitbit app provides data for all the giveaways KrowdFit offers. The tracker will record steps, activity, and sleep automatically as you wear it. Then use the Fitbit app to record your meals and mindfulness exercises.
How it works: When you wear your Fitbit tracker synced to your Fitbit app the tracker records your steps, activity and sleep as you go about your day. You do need to wear the tracker for the data to be recorded. The data moves from the tracker, to the Fitbit app, to the Fitbit servers, then to KrowdFit. It is not a real-time exchange and can have delays in the process.
- Steps and Activity: The tracker will record steps as it detects them from your movements. Activity is a little different, while walking is technically an activity we don't award for minutes spent walking, you get steps for those, we reward for moderate or greater active minutes as detected by the device. This is generally similar to a light jog.
- Sleep: Like steps and activity, sleep is recorded when you wear the device while you are sleeping. The device will automatically detect the various levels of sleep from "in bed" to "deep sleep". KrowdFit will get the total minutes detected as sleep from your Fitbit.
- Meals: You use the Fitbit app to log your meals using their built in meal logger. There are a number of other meal apps which will connect to Fitbit you can use for meal logging, you can learn more about those here: https://gallery.fitbit.com/apps
- Mindfulness: For Mindfulness you will need to connect to either Apple Health or Google Fit and use one of the popular Mindfulness apps connected there. You can find more on the Apple Health or Google Fit articles. This is a recent change for Fitbit and could change again at anytime.
MobileTrack: With most modern Android devices the Ftibit app will let you use your phone as a tracker for steps and activity. You can learn more about this feature from the Fitbit site.
